Luis Mujica was born in Valencia, Venezuela. Art training began in 2001 at the famous Venezuelan Plastic Art School, Arturo Michelena. The prestigious institution’s reputation for focusing on art history and applied art had an enormous impact and, by working and studying under the direct influence of renowned Venezuelan master painter, Francisco Bugallo, Luis nurtured an artistic vision that inspires him to think beyond the constraints of rational points.
The result in his latest works — an expression of pattern repetitions that reach their startling conclusion in a perfect harmony of colours and lines.
Luis participated in the First Latin American Art Exhibition in St Kilda (2018). Immediately after, he had the opportunity to continue his work at the Swan Street Arts Studios in Richmond, where he met professional artists with different backgrounds and lengthy careers and he remains proud to have created art pieces for private collections in Sydney ,Wollongong and Melbourne.
With a desire to perfect his technique through light and colour, Luis is committed to pushing the boundaries of his mind — a seemingly infinite mission that will, no doubt, keep creating new, important works that reflect his diverse cultural heritage and lived experience.
